Irish coffee

A darker sugar for a darker drink.

The cream is meant to sit on top and stay there. Warm the glass first, pour gently, and drink the coffee through the cream without stirring it in.

Ingredients

  • 1 shot (30 ml) Irish whiskey, warmed
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar syrup
  • 1 heaped tbsp whipped cream
  • Hot strong coffee

Method

  1. Warm the glass, and pour in the warmed whiskey.
  2. Add the syrup and stir it through.
  3. Pour in the hot coffee and stir once to combine.
  4. Float the whipped cream on top over the back of a spoon. Do not stir it in.
  5. Drink it through the cream.
